Canine Chondrodysplasia
BEFORE you purchase a havanese, make sure the breeder will show you the parents legs when they are WET...this may seem a bit extreme, but to protect you the customer from buying a puppy with a genetic disease you must go this extra mile. I will be taking pictures of my parents soon to put on my site to prove we have no disease here. This is a crippling disease. Many breeders are passing this on because they breed for the ALMIGHTY dollar....shame on them for passing this on....it makes me crazy when breeders do this but it happens ALL the time. It does not cause death, and a dog can live a fairly normal life, but will start having pain and suffering at an early age. If a breeder will NOT show you the dogs legs (the parents of your puppy), purchase your puppy from someone that will be honest with you...
